Electrician Overview:
- Responsible for the proper
maintenance and repairs of the electrical system on board as directed by the Chief
Electrician.
- Reports directly to the Chief
Engineer.
Requirements:
- Certified and licensed by a
recognized government body.
- Extensive experience with
minimum two to five years in subordinate positions on board ships.
- Graduate of accredited
maritime training school or facility with several years experience in the electrical area
of maritime shipping.
Salary Range
- Passenger vessels:
$1,825-2,150 per month.
- All other vessels: $64,000 per
year.
Contract Length:
- Passenger vessels: 5-6 months
on/6-8 weeks off.
- Other vessels: 3-5 months
on/4-6 weeks off.
