Overview:

  • Responsible for the proper maintenance and repairs of the electrical system on board as directed by the Chief Electrician.
  • Reports directly to the Chief Engineer.

Requirements:

  • Certified and licensed by a recognized government body.
  • Extensive experience with minimum two to five years in subordinate positions on board ships.
  • Graduate of accredited maritime training school or facility with several years experience in the electrical area of maritime shipping.

Salary Range

  • Passenger vessels: $1,825-2,150 per month.
  • All other vessels: $64,000 per year.

Contract Length:

  • Passenger vessels: 5-6 months on/6-8 weeks off.
  • Other vessels: 3-5 months on/4-6 weeks off.
