Chief Officer/Chief Mate Overview:
- Works closely with the crew,
inspects crew work, discipline, supervises navigation bridge when captain is not on duty
or unavailable.
- Reports directly to the
Captain.
Requirements:
- Captain's required licenses
preferable and all applicable certifications by a recognized maritime government body,
USCG registered.
- Extensive experience with
minimum three to five years in subordinate positions on board ships.
- Solid experience in all
navigational electronic and computerized equipment.
- Graduate of accredited
maritime training school or facility.
Salary Range
- Passenger vessels:$3,750-4,200
per month.
- All other vessels: $80,000 per
year.
Contract Length:
- Passenger vessels: 3-4 months
on/4-6 weeks off.
- Other vessels: 3-5 months
on/4-6 weeks off.
