Overview:

• Responsible for the entire technical operations of the vessel including engineering, electrical, and mechanical divisions.
• All other positions in this department report directly to the chief engineer.
• Reports directly to the Captain.

Requirements:

• Certified and licensed by a recognized government body.
• Extensive experience with minimum five to eight years in subordinate positions on board ships.
• Graduate of accredited maritime training school or facility with several years experience in the engineering aspect of maritime shipping.

Salary Range

• Passenger vessels:$5,000-5,500 per month.
• All other vessels: $95,000 per year.

Contract Length:

• Passenger vessels: 3-4 months on/4-6 weeks off.
• Other vessels: 3-5 months on/4-6 weeks off.
